Our Structure

 

Staff

Our staff consists of our lab manager, who is responsible for managing and communicating with new and current lab members, ensuring their safety and ability to pursue their projects within the SBL lab. While supporting our community in their research endeavors, our staff manager also directs and assists with new lab initiatives.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is the governing body of SBL. They focus on high-level strategy, oversight, and accountability of our organization. Unlike other non-profit Boards, SBL board members are extensively involved in the organization. All SBL board members serve as committee volunteers and/or committee chairs.

 

Committees

Each committee (listed below) manages a different aspect of our organization. All our committees are volunteer-led. If you’re interested in learning more or joining any of our committees, please email the committee chair directly.

  • Education & Outreach: Designs and runs our educational programming. Drives partnerships with local schools and educational communities. Coordinates volunteers. (Chair: Jean-Dominique Bonnet)

  • Lab & Research: Responsible for SoundBio lab operations, project proposal review, safety protocols, equipment evaluation, inventory management, and community research projects. (Chair: Seth Barribeau)

  • Development: Drives fundraising, sponsorships, grants, and partnerships with aligned organizations. Oversees communications, including our newsletter, social media, branding, and website. (Chair: Anna Tonkonogui)
